College Rap Session (Keppin it real!)
College Rap Session is a chat forum where high school students chat with college administrators and students from Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, and DePaul University about Admission, Financial Aid/Scholarships, and College Life.

Administrators will discuss the overall admission and financial aid process and share scholarship opportunities. The session will feature an open chat forum with active college students about college life and opportunities.

College Entrance Exam Seminars
In collaboration with KAPLAN Test Prep and Admissions, we will provide ACT & SAT practice test and teach back sessions to help students improve their standardized test scores. The seminars are aimed at high school students who are planning on attending college and to help students prepare for one of the most essential milestones used to determine scholastic abilities. Practice test scores are returned to the students for review with a follow-up teach back session where KAPLAN instructors give test taking strategies in improving students’ test scores. Students will have an opportunity to fully prepare and focus in areas where they may need most improvement prior to taking the actual test.

Heritage Bowl
The Heritage Bowl is the intellectual property of 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. and is essentially an educational and scholarship program designed to enhance the study of African-American history. It is intended to increase the interest of young people in knowing their legacy of great leaders in our community.

Students from area schools square off and test their knowledge of African-American history. The Heritage Bowl is designed to spur keen interest and competition yet the competitive spirit is developed within an atmosphere of mutual respect and admiration between the competitors. Typically, there are between 20-24 students involved. Students from sixth through eighth grade make up the Junior division while the Senior division is made up of students from ninth through twelfth grades. The winners of the Heritage Bowl receive local awards by 100 BMC as well as an all expense paid trip to compete in the National Competition, which is held in Atlanta.
