Our Programs
In delivering on our promise to serve our youth and our community, 100 Black Men of Chicago focuses on several programming areas. Our "Four for the Future" focus allow us to provide insightful services.

After School Programs - Weekly mentoring sessions with young students at several schools throughout Chicago land area. The programs are centered on building self-esteem to improve the academic performance..

Saturday Mentoring Programs - Building self-esteem to improve the academic performance in all participants. The mentoring program focuses on job preparedness through sequential concepts, which include self-awareness, exploration, and preparation. Mentees take an active role in leadership, individuality, and personal expression.

Education Programs

College Entrance Exam Seminars - In collaboration with Kaplan, we provide ACT & SAT practice test and teach back sessions to help students improve their standardized test scores.

Heritage Bowl  - The Heritage Bowl is the intellectual property of 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. and is essentially an educational and scholarship program designed to enhance the study of African-American history. 
 
College Scholarship Fair - Each year, we host an interactive college fair where students meet with over 150 colleges and universities around the nation ranging from HBCU to Ivy Leagues which they can explore college choices, explore new career interest as well as network with other key educational organizations about scholarship opportunities.
 
College Rap Session - College Rap Session is a chat forum where high school students chat with college administrators and students from Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, and DePaul University about Admission, Financial Aid/Scholarships, and College Life.
 

100 Black Men of Chicago focuses on health and wellness of African Americans through collaborative relationships and alliances with local health professionals and hospitals. We focus our attention on awareness, education, and early detection of disease that disproportionately impact African American men and women.
 
Economic Development

Smart Money - 100 Black Men of Chicago along with WalMart have made a commitment to work together to provide quality financial education to help community members enhance their money management skills and create positive banking relationships. The goal of the Money Smart Program is to promote financial education, asset building, and financial self-sufficiency for low and moderate- income communities. The program targets individuals with little or no banking experience and/or those outside the financial mainstream. 
 
Money Smart has ten 10 training modules:
1.         Bank On It! — an introduction to bank services
2.         Borrowing Basics — an introduction to credit
3.         Check It Out! — how to choose and keep a checking account
4.         Money Matters — how to keep track of your money
5.         Pay Yourself First — why you should save
6.         Keep It Safe — your rights as a consumer
7.         To Your Credit — how your credit history will affect your future                      
8.         Charge It Right! — how you make a credit card work for you
9.         Loan to Own — know what you’re borrowing before you buy
10.       Your Own Home — what homeownership is all about, and why you should own

"For more than 10 years, 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. has been striving to improve the opportunities and experiences of the youth we interact with. As role models we believe that “What They See, Is What They Will Be."
